Ruth Friberg was a long time Maine artist who has painted for several decades. In her mid-80s she retired from painting but remainedl an artist at heart until her passing in 2021 at the age of 92. Much of her work has been sold while exhibited in art shows or in galleries. Many of her paintings were given to members of her very large family. Her work is shown here in this gallery - grouped by subject.

Ruth Friberg moved from Massachusetts to Maine during the 1970s with her husband and children. Their new home was an old farm in western Maine. Along with their children they raised farm animals and tended to vegetable and flower gardens.

Much of Ruth's paintings depict scenes from the farmhouse, the farm, and every day country life. In addition, she has painted many scenes from the woods, mountains, and coastline of Maine.
